5 Jan 2012

Shallow Water Striper University will be held on February 18th and 19th, 2012 at the Sheraton Airport Inn, on Post Road in Warwick, Rhode Island. This will be our third year of operation having taught more than 200 anglers the finer art of striped bass fishing.
This year, the focus is on saving time, money and effort, as well as cutting that learning curve by quite a bit so you can hit the ground running in the springtime. The more you know, the more likely you are to be successful. Each year we hear, "I've been fishing for striped bass for three, four or five years now and I don't seem to have all that much luck at it." Well, you aren't alone. Many other beginning anglers are in the same boat so to speak and find it difficult to unlock the secrets of being a successful striped bass angler.
Shallow Water Striper University was created just for that purpose. To teach those who wanted to learn, how to do it correctly and to avoid many of the mistakes that most anglers make when they head out to fish for them. We bring in some of the best and most talented Pro's to teach you everything you need to know. Topics include: Surf fishing, surf casting, plug and lure selection, boat fishing, live and cut bait tricks, trolling, fly fishing, fly tying, kayak fishing, electronics, plug building, fishing with soft plastics, and our unique "Live Pool" demo, where we toss all types of baits in a crystal clear swimming pool and show you how they should be worked and fished when on the water.
This is a COMPLETE educational program. Many say, I only surf fish, or I only fish from a boat, or I'm a fly fishermen, if you pay attention to the topics and the programs, there is SOMETHING TO LEARN FROM EVERY PRESENTER at our show. Many topics and things covered are interrelated to one another regardless of how you fish, or where you fish or when you fish. There maybe little differences between all the disciplines, but the main core of how, when, where and why to find and catch them is THE SAME, regardless of how you chose to catch them.
The seminar's begin on Saturday February 18th at 8:00 am and run through the afternoon until 5:00pm. Then on Sunday the 19th we begin again at 8:00 am and continue to around 4 or 5 pm. You receive almost 16 hours of instruction which is a mere $5.00 an hour for some of the most helpful fishing info you'll ever get in seminar setting.
Our University is also limited in space. We don't take more than 100 or so anglers. We kept it small so everyone gets personalized attention, or as much as possible. That leaves time for questions and answers, as well as time to talk to the Pro's who are teaching. Almost everyone who has ever attended has said that they never learned so much in such a short period of time, which is exactly what we intended it to be.
Following is a list of presenters for this year. Speakers are subject to change as well as topics, since things happen in life and sometimes some of our speakers can't make it at the last minute.
