I was hoping someone could give some advice on a rod & reel for fishing live bait from a boat in the bay. I generally surf fish but have the opportunity to fish from a boat every now and then and would like to get a decent setup. I don't need anything top of the line, just some suggestions that I could you use for fishing eels and pogies. What size rod works for everyone and what types of reels do you like.

7' Rainshadow E-Glass SWB70H. That is a blank, I can build it for you custom if you're interested. Pretty much indestructible, plenty of backbone to handle any bass and fairly inexpensive. It is what I use for live of chunking Bunker. Ask Billy (Eelman), he'll confirm.
