shark fishing this week has been excellent when the weather cooperates. Seven blue sharks on Monday, ten on Tuesday with a nice mako thrown in, One shark stayed at the boat and chewed on the lower unit and trip tabs for three hours or more. Smacked him in the head about eight times and didn't seem to phase him, he kept coming back. On Thursday went to the Acid Barge on the Karuna and took a beating with the seas. Came back in six to eight footers and driving rain. Not a nice day at all. eight big bluefish for the effort.
The gas mileage on the new Evinrude E-Tec has just been simply amazing. right now we are using about 38-percent less gas than with our 4-Stroke Honda. Pretty incredible. If you are considering a new outboard, I;d give these engines a close look. No maintance for three years, more power, quicker hole shot, and less gas, cant' beat that.

what ballpark have you been in?
Cant pull a canyon run this weekend, so I'll likely screw around inshore (s. of the block)Seen any BFT? we usually troll first light for a few hours then set-up a slick... bryan_oakley@hotmail.com

Most everyone believes that the fish are moving east. I think so too. The type of day it is seems to dicate whether or not you see any BFT. Saw a few last week about eight miles east of Sakonnet, didn't stay up very long. Sharking is good this side of the Mud Hole, some bonito begining to show too but not too many yet.

figure on trolling from the F.B. and either head S towards the Gully or E. towards Coxes.
Depends on the weather.
I'll probably drift Coxes sharking, cooler water, and can drop a squid on the bottom while we drift... then troll towards home. I'll be on 68 on Sat.
